True joy is not found in waiting for something more, but in fully embracing and thanking God for the moments we have right now. The Bible calls us to focus on the present, rather than dwelling on past regrets or future anxieties. Philippians 4:4 encourages us, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” This call to rejoice isn’t based on circumstances but invites us to make joy a daily choice. By trusting in God's presence in our lives today, we can find peace and joy in each moment. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
The Bible also teaches the power of gratitude in fostering joy. Every new day is a gift from God, and by acknowledging His blessings, we can experience contentment in even the simplest moments. Psalm 118:24 tells us, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” When we focus on the blessings, we have today rather than what we lack, our hearts open to true joy. As we learn to live in the present, we begin to experience the abundant life that Jesus promised in John 10:10: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” BE ENCOURAGED!
